Job summary

GE HealthCare is seeking an entry-level Field Engineer to provide region-based service support for GEHC Surgery equipment. The role includes installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and customer liaison across North Florida, Southwest Georgia, and Southeast Alabama.

This onsite position requires driving, after-hours availability, and adherence to safety and background checks. Relocation assistance is provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in Electrical, Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent military education; or GEHC Biomed/FE Internship or Military Externship; or HS diploma with 4+ years of electronic equipment service experience.
• Experience with Web applications and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Must pass GEHC background checks and post-offer drug test; comply with access policies and immunization requirements.
• Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
• Willingness to be available after hours or on a rotating On-Call schedule including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Learn to complete on-time Preventative Maintenance, FMIs and ISIs.
• Assist more experienced field engineers with equipment installation.
• Troubleshoot and service designated equipment with experienced staff.
• Communicate effectively with teammates, customers, and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with customers to ensure resolution and follow-up for satisfaction.
• Identify value-added services to help customers run their business more efficiently.
• Maintain service logs, order parts, and manage cycle times.
• Follow GEHC escalation processes and work with regional and national support for corrective actions.
• Engage with account communities for key accounts and assist with revenue programs.
• Stay informed about competitors and market trends.
• Be able to answer service calls independently within one year of employment.
