Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, WA, is seeking an Operating Engineer Apprentice to learn hands-on building maintenance through the IUOE Local 302 program. You will rotate through trades, complete work orders, attend Renton Technical College classes, and maintain training records.

The four-year apprenticeship offers Earn While You Learn, competitive wages, a pension, and comprehensive benefits. A valid WA driver’s license and ability to lift 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess and maintain a valid Washington State Driver's License.
• Physical ability to climb, bend, lift and use ladders/scaffolds; must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Attend classes at Renton Technical College as required and maintain passing grades.
• Maintain an on‑the‑job training record and submit records monthly to the union.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment relevant to the trade.
• Perform manual labor associated with the trade.
• Run errands and transport materials, tools, and equipment.
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
• Perform skilled trade work commensurate with apprenticeship.
• Other duties as assigned.
