Job summary

CTL Engineering is seeking ODOT prequalified Inspectors (structures) for roadway/bridge projects in Northeast Ohio, starting with the I-90 project in Cuyahoga County. The role involves inspection, testing, and construction administration to ensure compliance with state specifications.

This position typically travels within the greater Cleveland/NE Ohio region. The successful candidate will read blueprints, prepare reports, and conduct quality control testing on concrete, soils, masonry, asphalt,

Qualifications

• ODOT prequalified Structures Inspector is required.
• Experience inspecting ODOT-funded projects.
• Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
• Experience with concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utility construction engineering services and inspection/testing is a plus.
• Must be able to read blueprints and construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce quality standards and specifications.
• Read project drawings, specifications, blueprints, and work on a variety of construction projects.
• Perform construction administration and inspection services for state, county and local roadway and bridge projects.
• Inspect construction projects to ensure contractor compliance with state specifications, plans and/or proposals on roadway and bridge projects.
• Prepare and maintain project records and reports in a timely manner.
• Notify the Contractor or the Project Engineer with status updates or about non-conforming work.
• Conduct quality control testing at project sites, including concrete, soils, masonry, asphalt, aggregate and reinforcing steel.
