Job summary

CTL Engineering, Inc. is seeking Inspectors | Construction Services to support ODOT transportation projects. The role focuses on construction administration, inspection and testing for roadway/bridge work, with travel across northern Ohio.

You will perform field inspections, read plans, ensure compliance with specifications, and prepare records under supervision of a Dept. Manager. This position blends field and office work within a team-oriented, award-winning firm.

Qualifications

• ODOT Certified Technician qualification preferred or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Technical school or community college graduate; Associate degree with 2+ years related work experience is acceptable.
• At least 2 years of related field experience and familiarity with highway construction specifications.
• Previous experience with a testing company is a plus.
• Preferred certifications: ACI Grade I, DOT Asphalt Tech, NICET Level II Soils, ICC Special inspections and/or CWI/NDT.
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Monitor quality standards and project specifications.
• Read drawings, blueprints and project documents and perform field inspections.
• Conduct inspection and testing for roadway and bridge projects.
• Verify quantities against bid plans and maintain project records.
• Notify engineers about status updates and non-conforming work.
• Possibly conduct hazardous material surveys during abatement projects.
• Carry out quality control testing for concrete, soils, asphalt, aggregate and reinforcing steel.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Engineer or Project Manager.
