Job summary

Primoris Services Corporation in Odessa, TX, is seeking a Fleet Shop Tech to maintain, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment, trucks, and fleet assets. You will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and safety checks to ensure operational readiness.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED, 3–5 years of diesel tech experience, diesel engine and hydraulic system expertise, and proficiency with diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or diesel technician.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Possession of a valid driver`s license; CDL preferred.
• Proficiency with diagnostic software and tools.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and other company vehicles, including oil changes, lubrication, fluid checks, and filter replacements.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and personal expertise.
• Execute complex repairs on engines, transmissions, differentials, brakes, steering systems, and other components.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify and address potential problems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including lighting, wiring, and control modules.
• Perform welding and fabrication as needed for equipment repair and modification.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and labor hours.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as DOT regulations.
• Assist with inventory management of parts and supplies.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and equipment operators regarding repair status and potential issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
