Job summary

Nakupuna Services LLC seeks a full-time Mechanical Engineer to join the DoWEA team. The role focuses on on-site facility condition assessments of mechanical systems across 45 campuses on 21 U.S. military installations in Japan, Okinawa, South Korea, and Guam, with travel.

Ideal candidates have a BS in Mechanical Engineering (ABET), 5+ years of experience, and a PE or EIT preferred, with readiness for international travel and DoD-clearance requirements. Honolulu-based, competitive salary.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering assessments of institutional/commercial mechanical systems.
• PE license or EIT/FE strongly preferred.
• Experience coordinating OCONUS fieldwork and international travel.
• Familiarity with USACE SMS BUILDER and direct-rating inspection methods.

Responsibilities

• Perform Facility Condition Assessments of HVAC, boilers, piping, EMCS, and hydronics.
• Enter data into E-SMS and manage 90-day site visit entries.
• Verify equipment barcoding/QR codes and ensure Asset Essentials compatibility.
• Support FCAR development with documentation and justifications for Amber/Red components.
• Assist in executing Triennial and Out-of-Cycle Task Orders with flexible deployment.
