Job summary

Travelers in the United States seeks an Account Executive Officer, Ocean Marine, to partner with agents and brokers to provide coverage for new and renewal business. You will assess complex risk and sell our products in challenging markets, helping drive profitability.

The role requires six to eight years of underwriting experience in Ocean Marine, a bachelor’s degree, CPCU preferred, and strong negotiation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Six to eight years of underwriting experience in Ocean Marine.
• Deep knowledge of Ocean Marine products and the local market.
• Strong critical thinking to identify challenges and act decisively.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• CPCU designation.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex accounts to minimize risk.
• Build relationships with internal partners to create sales plans.
• Maintain relationships with external agents/brokers to market Travelers products.
• Travel to meetings with agents and brokers.
• Identify new business opportunities using consultative sales skills.
• Develop agency sales plans with the Managing Director and support less experienced Account Executives.
