Job summary

CEVA Logistics is seeking an Ocean Import Specialist II in Des Plaines, IL to coordinate inbound or outbound shipments, manage documentation, and liaise with customers and authorities. The role focuses on ensuring timely releases, accurate invoicing, and proactive communication.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 1–3 years of related experience, and strong data entry and MS Office skills. A comprehensive benefits package and regular daytime hours are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associates degree preferred.
• 1–3 years related experience.
• Proficiency with basic software and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Serve as single point of coordination between customers, U.S. Customs and other government agencies to ensure service commitments are met.
• Provide excellent and timely customer service by informing clients of shipment status and routing more technical questions to supervisors.
• Receive, review and process documentation for assigned accounts and update related CEVA systems accordingly.
• Obtain releases from government agencies as appropriate and arrange receiving or delivery, ensuring invoicing is accurate and timely.
• Process duties for compliant release and timely delivery, including OGA release and cargo delivery setup.
• Perform initial reviews and escalate problems to supervisor as needed.
• Ensure customer profile data is accurate in company systems and prepare quotations and communications as directed.
• Manage pre-alerts daily to verify freight arrival and documents are received on time.
