Staffmark is seeking an Ocean Import Agent in Bensenville, IL, offering a Monday–Friday schedule and a $20–$25 per hour pay rate. You will manage ocean import shipments, handle documentation, and coordinate with carriers and brokers while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years in ocean imports, freight forwarding, logistics, customer service, or data entry
• Understanding of ocean import documentation and customs processes preferred
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Customer-service mindset and professional demeanor
• Experience with carriers, brokers, trucking companies, or international vendors is a plus

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor ocean import shipments from arrival to final delivery
• Track and trace import files to ensure timely freight movement
• Enter shipment data into company operating systems
• Prepare and distribute import documentation for customers, brokers, and vendors
• Communicate with customers regarding shipment status and import requirements
• Coordinate with shipping lines, trucking companies, warehouses, and customs brokers
• Process billing and ensure accurate invoicing
• Maintain compliance with customs regulations and company procedures
• Support continuous improvement and KPI goals
