DHL Global Forwarding is seeking an experienced Route Development Manager – Ocean Freight in Atlanta, GA. You will champion the ocean freight product for assigned lanes, drive growth, collaborate with pricing teams, and develop trade lane strategies while coordinating with sales, product, and operations.

A strong business development orientation and cross-cultural acumen are essential. The role requires 4+ years in ocean freight, excellent communication, and readiness to travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business discipline and 4+ years of related experience.
• Strong ocean freight product and pricing knowledge.
• Understanding of business development strategy and sales process.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills including conflict management and negotiation.
• Cross-cultural competence and cultural sensitivity.
• Self-starter with planning and organizing skills.
• Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Fluency in English; other languages are a plus.
• Travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Ocean Freight product champion and SME for assigned trade lanes.
• Drives growth across ocean products and supports country growth plan.
• Collaborates with pricing teams to review and finalize rates.
• Develops product priorities and business plan for routes.
• Conducts market profiling and competitive analysis to identify opportunities.
• Engages with carriers and procures per Trade Management guidance.
• Builds and executes an annual growth program including campaigns and RFQs.
