Job summary

Ascent Global Logistics is seeking an Ocean Booking Agent to facilitate the timely movement of ocean import shipments (FCL/LCL) from origin to destination. You will be the booking point of contact to ensure prompt, accurate service for customers.

The role requires 2 years in customer service and knowledge of ocean freight. You will schedule bookings, coordinate with overseas agents, and review daily activity to ensure compliance with standards. On-site work with potential remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• 2 years of customer service experience required.
• 2 years of freight forwarding experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ocean shipping and carrier coordination is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as ocean booking point of contact to ensure prompt, accurate service.
• Request freight quotations with container capacities, packing details, and weights.
• Schedule ocean bookings for hazardous and nonhazardous cargo.
• Coordinate routing and rating with overseas agents and suppliers.
• Review daily bookings for compliance with company and client expectations.
• Troubleshoot challenges affecting cargo movement and customs clearance.
• Follow objectives using independent judgment within policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
