Qualifications

• Experience pricing, quoting and booking in transportation/supply chain.
• Strong geographical awareness and routing international cargo.
• Understanding of ocean carrier services and contracts.
• Experience negotiating with agents, carriers and vendors.
• Ability to interpret ocean carrier terms and industry terminology.
• Ability to guide clients, sales personnel and agents on routing and pricing.

Responsibilities

• Understand shipment specifications and reference rate tools for ocean pricing.
• Coordinate with pricing to obtain appropriate rates and create quotes.
• Prepare and email quotes to clients and seek feedback.
• Review quotes and tariffs before contracting carriers to ensure rate alignment.
• Book ocean shipments in AS400, track important dates and provide confirmations.
• Monitor cut-off dates (port/rail, VGM, docs, AES) to avoid movement delays.
• Cross-check information to identify booking discrepancies and arrange trucking if needed.
