Job summary

CEVA Logistics is seeking an Ocean Export Agent in the United States to manage outbound ocean freight shipments, documentation, and customer negotiations. The role requires rapid learning, sea freight knowledge, and a proactive, organized approach to ensure timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED, 6 months to 1 year related experience.
• Ability to learn all aspects of the team’s work, and provide cover on a regular basis.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of sea freight product/environment.
• Self-starter, disciplined with leadership and motivational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and directs flow of outbound ocean freight shipments.
• Opens files on the dedicated software system for each shipment.
• Ships freight, prepares documentation and waybilling, assesses charges, and collects fees.
• Negotiates with domestic and foreign customers to resolve issues.
• Examines invoices and shipping manifests for tariff/customs conformance; prepares billing reports.
• Examines documents to verify conversion of weights/volumes in the system.
• Converts foreign currency figures to USD equivalents.
• Corresponds with foreign network.
• Moves shipments on time; files documents accurately.
• Corrects EPOs as requested by supervisor; reports difficulties.
• Prepares quotations under supervisor control.
