Job summary

Expeditors International is seeking an Ocean Export Lead Agent to ensure timely freight movement and provide excellent customer service within the Ocean Export Department. The role focuses on data accuracy, tracking, and adherence to regulations.

Reporting to the Ocean Export Lead Agent, Supervisor, and Manager, you will work in a team in a global logistics environment with growth opportunities and internal development programs.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year related experience or training.
• Understanding of ocean documentation process is a plus.
• Effective interpersonal skills and clear communication.
• Pro-active, strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate movement of freight and information.
• Maintain data entry accuracy in the operational system.
• Track and Trace Ocean Export Files and reporting.
• Meet compliance with government regulations.
• Suggest improvements to processes for efficiency and productivity.
• Ensure customers’ SOPs are documented and updated.

Job Description

Scope of Position

Ensure timely and accurate movement of freight and information, while providing exceptional customer service within the Ocean Export Department.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operational system
• Track and Trace Ocean Export Files and reporting
• Meet compliance at all times to regulations internal and external in accordance with government regulations
• Understand department process flow, and looking for best practices to improve operational efficiency and productivity
• Ensure all customers standard operating procedures in place and updated in the DLSOPs
• Overseas communications, timely responses to emails and requests (internal and external)
• Escalation of problems to Management when necessary

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Understanding of ocean documentation process a plus
• Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
• Pro-active, strong organizational skills
• Hazardous Materials certification (preferred)
