Job summary

Expeditors in Wisconsin is seeking an Ocean Export Lead Agent to ensure timely freight movement and accurate data entry within the Ocean Export Department. You will provide exceptional customer service and maintain file visibility through Track and Trace processes.

The role requires 6 months to 1 year of related experience, strong communication, and proactive organization. Hazardous Materials certification is preferred; you will report to the Ocean Export Lead, Supervisor, and Manager.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Understanding of ocean documentation process is a plus
• Effective interpersonal and concise communication to obtain results
• Pro-active and well-organized approach to work
• Hazardous Materials certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate movement of freight within the Ocean Export Department
• Provide exceptional customer service and timely responses
• Ensure data entry into the operational system is accurate
• Track and trace Ocean Export files and reporting
• Adhere to government regulations and internal SOPs
• Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency

Job Description

Scope of Position

Ensure timely and accurate movement of freight and information, while providing exceptional customer service within the Ocean Export Department.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operational system
• Track and Trace Ocean Export Files and reporting
• Meet compliance at all times to regulations internal and external in accordance with government regulations
• Understand department process flow, and looking for best practices to improve operational efficiency and productivity
• Ensure all customers standard operating procedures in place and updated in the DLSOPs
• Overseas communications, timely responses to emails and requests (internal and external)
• Escalation of problems to Management when necessary

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Understanding of ocean documentation process a plus
• Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
• Pro-active, strong organizational skills
• Hazardous Materials certification (preferred)
