Expeditors in Uniondale, NY is seeking an Ocean Export Lead Agent to ensure the timely movement of freight and high-quality customer service within the Ocean Export Department. The role focuses on accurate data entry, tracking, and compliance with government and internal procedures.

You will work under the Ocean Export Lead Agent, Supervisor and Manager, contributing to process improvements and best practices to boost efficiency while maintaining strong client communication and timely responses.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of related experience or training
• Understanding of ocean documentation processes is a plus
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proactive and well-organized
• Hazardous Materials certification preferred

Responsabilités

• Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow
• Enter data accurately into the operational system
• Track and trace Ocean Export files and reporting
• Meet compliance at all times with regulations internal and external
• Coordinate with customers and internal teams to improve efficiency

Job Description

Scope of Position

Ensure timely and accurate movement of freight and information, while providing exceptional customer service within the Ocean Export Department.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operational system
• Track and Trace Ocean Export Files and reporting
• Meet compliance at all times to regulations internal and external in accordance with government regulations
• Understand department process flow, and looking for best practices to improve operational efficiency and productivity
• Ensure all customers standard operating procedures in place and updated in the DLSOPs
• Overseas communications, timely responses to emails and requests (internal and external)
• Escalation of problems to Management when necessary

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Understanding of ocean documentation process a plus
• Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
• Pro-active, strong organizational skills
• Hazardous Materials certification (preferred)
