Job summary

Laurel Square Healthcare and Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our rehabilitation team in a skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will be patient, compassionate, and professional, encouraging patients toward independence.

Shift type is per diem. The OTA will implement treatment plans, monitor progress, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and educate patients and families on home programs and adaptive equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience providing occupational therapy in a skilled nursing facility.
• Graduated from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current Occupational Therapy Assistant license for the state of Pennsylvania.
• Requires good organizational and time management skills.
• Requires good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement an individualized treatment plan based on the patient assessment provided by the Occupational Therapist to restore function and independence.
• Monitor patients' performance in therapy activities and adjust the treatment program to obtain improved progress.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team members to provide input regarding patient needs and establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintain positive interactions with patients, families, and caregivers while providing instruction and education in home programs, basic living skills, and the use of adaptive equipment.
