Job summary

PACS is seeking a Staff Occupational Therapist Assistant to assist the Staff OT with resident care and documentation in a post-acute setting. You will support treatment plans and help ensure compliance with facility and payer requirements.

You will participate in meetings, train Restorative Aides, educate residents and families, and help select assistive devices to promote independence while maintaining confidentiality and safety.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree from an accredited COTA program.
• Proficient in computer skills such as inputting data into programs for Net Health and Point Click Care.
• Language Skills: Ability to read technical procedures, policies, and manuals.
• Mathematical Skills: Apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
• Reasoning Ability: Solve practical problems and interpret instructions.

Responsibilities

• Treat residents as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in accordance with facility, governmental, and third-party payer requirements.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment by following infection control, safety, and equipment maintenance protocols.
• Participate in Resident Care conferences and/or Rehabilitation meetings, as needed.
• Assist nursing department with training of Restorative Aides.
• Communicates with supervising occupational therapist to update physicians, nursing staff, and families about progress and discharge planning.
• Provide in-services on training programs for staff as needed.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment goals, home exercise programs, and safety techniques.
• Recommend and facilitate ordering of durable medical equipment to aid independence in ADLs.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents and company information.
• Report issues with department equipment for maintenance.
• Contribute to quality assurance and rehabilitation program development.
