Job summary

PACS is seeking a Staff Occupational Therapist Assistant to support the Staff Occupational Therapist in resident care and rehab services. You will assist in treatment, document accurately, and maintain a safe environment while promoting independence.

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, educate residents and families, and help with discharge planning and equipment needs. This role requires an OTA license and proficiency with EHR systems.

Qualifications

• Education and experience requirements include an Associate Degree from an accredited COTA program.
• Proficient in computer skills and data entry for healthcare software (Net Health, Point Click Care).

Responsibilities

• Treat residents as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation in accordance with facility and payer requirements.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment per infection control and safety protocols.
• Participate in Resident Care conferences and rehabilitation meetings.
• Assist nursing with training Restorative Aides.
• Communicate updates to physicians, nursing staff, and families regarding progress and discharge planning.
• Provide in-services on training programs for staff.
• Educate residents and families on treatment goals, home exercise programs, and safety techniques.
• Recommend and facilitate necessary durable medical equipment for independence in ADLs.
