Job summary

Total Care Therapy is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our expanding Central Ohio team. You will work with a licensed Occupational Therapist to deliver patient‑centered care, helping residents improve mobility and independence in assisted living and related communities.

Qualifications

• Current State Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license.
• CPR/BLS certification.
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
• Experience in geriatrics, home health, assisted living, or skilled nursing preferred.
• Leadership or Director of Rehabilitation experience preferred, but leadership potential considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled OTA treatments under the direction of a licensed OT.
• Deliver therapy focused on ADLs, IADLs, upper extremity function, balance, strength, cognition, and independence.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising OT.
• Complete timely EMR documentation.
• Educate residents and caregivers on adaptive equipment, energy conservation, home safety and fall prevention.
• Collaborate with OT and interdisciplinary team for coordinated care.
• Maintain a productive clinical caseload while delivering high‑quality services.
• Act as liaison between leadership and the facility; oversee staff performance and development.
• Coordinate meetings, training, and events for staff and residents.

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to join our growing team.

In this role, you will work alongside a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality, patient-centered care that helps residents improve mobility, increase strength, restore function, and maintain their independence.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist according to established plans of care.
• Deliver therapeutic activities and interventions focused on improving activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), upper extremity function, coordination, balance, strength, cognition, and functional independence.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes in condition to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation using the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Educate residents and caregivers on adaptive equipment, energy conservation techniques, home safety, fall prevention, and strategies to maximize independence.
• Collaborate with Occupational Therapists and interdisciplinary team members to provide coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Maintain a productive clinical caseload while delivering compassionate, high-quality occupational therapy services.

Director of Rehabilitation Responsibilities

• Act as the main liaison between leadership and the facility.
• Oversee staff performance and support professional development.
• Manage administrative and operational tasks across therapy services.
• Coordinate meetings, training, and events for staff and residents.
• Maintain communication with residents, families, and leadership.
• Drive referrals for all disciplines

Qualifications

• Current State Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) License
• Current CPR/BLS Certification
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
• Previous experience in geriatrics, home health, assisted living, or skilled nursing preferred
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or Director of Rehabilitation experience preferred, but leadership potential will be considered
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
