Santa Cruz Post Acute seeks a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our therapy team in a skilled nursing environment. You will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to deliver individualized interventions that help residents improve independence and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the state of California.
• Graduate of an accredited COTA program.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatment interventions as outlined in the resident’s individualized OT plan of care.
• Assist in implementing therapeutic programs to improve ADLs, mobility, strength, coordination, and cognitive function.
• Document daily treatment notes, progress updates, and resident responses according to facility and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with the occupational therapist, therapy staff, nursing team, and other interdisciplinary members to support resident goals.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, safety techniques, and functional strategies.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations and professional standards.
