Job summary

Charming Lakes Rehabilitation in Lakeland, FL is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team. You will implement treatment plans, provide ADL training, and help residents improve independence and quality of life.

This PRN role offers $37.00 per hour. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, educate residents and families, maintain accurate documentation, and support care plans while delivering high-quality, resident-centered

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• NBCOT certification or eligibility required.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a COTA in Florida.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Provide OT interventions, including ADL training and therapeutic exercises.
• Assist with individualized treatment programs based on residents' needs and goals.
• Organize and facilitate treatment groups as appropriate.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers regarding therapy programs and strategies.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
• Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team collaboration.
• Monitor, clean, and maintain therapy equipment and report any needs.
• Promote resident safety, dignity, independence, and quality of life.
• Deliver compassionate, high-quality care while respecting individual rights.

• Organize and facilitate treatment groups as appropriate
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers regarding therapy programs and strategies
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
• Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team collaboration
• Monitor, clean, and maintain therapy equipment and report any equipment needs
• Promote resident safety, dignity, independence, and quality of life

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Certification or eligibility for certification through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a COTA in the state of Florida
• Previous experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, or related healthcare setting preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to providing compassionate, resident-centered care
