Job summary

Charming Lakes Rehabilitation in Lakeland, FL seeks a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our patient-centered rehabilitation team. The role focuses on helping residents improve independence and quality of life by executing therapy plans under OT supervision and coordinating with families and staff.

This PRN position emphasizes ADL training, therapeutic activities, and functional goals, with documentation, teamwork, and a strong commitment to compassionate care

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• NBCOT certification or eligibility.
• Licensed or eligible for Florida COTA licensure.
• Experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center or related healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist
• Provide occupational therapy interventions, including ADL training, therapeutic exercises, and functional activities
• Assist with individualized treatment programs based on each resident’s needs and goals
• Organize and facilitate treatment groups as appropriate
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers regarding therapy programs and strategies
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
• Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team collaboration
• Monitor, clean, and maintain therapy equipment and report any equipment needs
• Promote resident safety, dignity, independence, and quality of life
• Deliver compassionate, high-quality care while respecting each resident’s individual needs and rights

• Previous experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, or related healthcare setting preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
