Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist at Anderson Hospital to enhance patients' daily task abilities. You will evaluate, plan, and document progress across outpatient, inpatient, pediatric, and off-site settings.

Role requires state licensure, BLS completion within 30 days of hire, and 2 years of experience in a similar setting. Strong communication and critical thinking are essential for successful collaboration with care teams.

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of current practice or meet all qualifications for traineeship or temporary license in the state of current practice.
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, required within 30 days for BSMH, required at hire for RSFH).
• 2 years of experience in equivalent setting (preferred).
• Apply age-specific standards for pediatric to geriatric patients.
• General computer skills: data entry, word processing, email, and records management.
• Analytical abilities to evaluate patient condition, capabilities and progress.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with coworkers, physicians, patients and families.
• Ability to work well with all levels of patients, the public and health care professionals.
• Demonstrates critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Review physician referrals and patient medical history to determine therapy needs.
• Conduct and document patient evaluations, re-evaluations, and treatment plans according to department protocols.
• Administer prescribed occupational therapy treatments and create custom equipment for individual needs.
• Develop programs focusing on functional skills, vocational training, daily activities, and motor skills.
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment goals and plans as necessary, participating in patient care conferences.
• Educate patients and families on at-home treatment procedures.
