Job summary

Pasadena Post Acute in Pasadena, TX seeks a Staff Occupational Therapist to evaluate residents, develop individualized plans, and promote functional independence. You will supervise COTA staff, educate families, and collaborate with physicians, nursing, and therapy teams for discharge planning.

The role requires state OT licensure, strong documentation, and ongoing training to support quality care and safety within the facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy; advanced degree preferred.
• Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state; continuing education required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents to determine OT needs and rehabilitation potential.
• Develop, implement, and update treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and independence.
• Supervise COTA, aides, and students in resident care.
• Communicate with physicians, nursing staff, families, and residents regarding progress and discharge planning.
• Participate in Resident Care conferences and Rehabilitation meetings as needed.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation per facility and payer requirements.
• Educate residents and families on goals, home exercise programs, safety techniques, and fall prevention.
• Recommend and facilitate ordering of durable medical equipment to support ADLs.
