Job summary

NOVO Rehabilitation seeks an Occupational Therapist to design and implement plans of care focused on daily living activities and mobility for geriatric residents. The role emphasizes safety, quality of life, and family collaboration within a faith-based care team.

The ideal candidate will hold an OT degree, NBCOT certification, and OK licensure, with demonstrated experience serving older adults and a commitment to maintaining licensure through CEUs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• Current NBCOT certification required.
• OK licensure in good standing required.
• Ability to meet CEU requirements to maintain licensure.
• Experience with older adults across multiple diagnostic groups preferred.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and fulfill a plan of care focused on ADLs and mobility to enhance resident safety and quality of life.
• Provide occupational therapy services and refer when appropriate per standards and productivity guidelines.
• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants as allowed by license to ensure proper care.
• Educate patients and families about therapy techniques for carryover into daily life.
• Complete treatment notes, progress notes, recertifications and discharges per Medicare guidelines.

Responsibilities:

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for initiating and fulfilling a plan of care targeted around activities of daily living for bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and/or feeing, improving the overall safety of the resident, and enhancing their quality of life with their desired ADLs and functional mobility.

• Provides quality occupational therapy services and recognizes referrals when appropriate, in accordance with established standards of practice, company procedures, therapy department procedures, and productivity standards
• Evaluates and obtains data necessary to ensure the plan of care reflects the safety and overall well-being of the individual
• Provides ongoing supervision for Occupational Therapy Assistants as agreed upon through board certified Form 5 to ensure justification for the need of skilled services and proper implementation of plan of care
• Educates/coordinates with the patient, family, outside contractors, and/or staff as needed regarding appropriate occupational therapy techniques to allow carryover of therapeutic remediation and goals in daily activities
• Completes required daily treatment notes, progress notes, recertifications, and discharges to justify skilled necessity and to ensure best quality of care per Medicare guidelines

QualificationsRequirements:

• Master’s degree or higher from an occupational therapist accredited program
• Must have passing score on the NBCOT exam
• Current, active licensure in the state of OK
• Uphold state required CEU’s in order to maintain good standing with the board
• Must be able to complete documentation efficiently to meet reimbursement and regulatory requirements
• Therapeutic experience in older adults across multiple diagnostic groups is preferred
• Valid driver’s license, and an automobile in good working condition with appropriate insurance coverage in accordance with state laws
