Job summary

Ascension in Pensacola, FL is seeking an Occupational Therapist for outpatient therapy. This on-site role supports the Ascension Sacred Heart Ortho Rehab with a PRN schedule.

You will assess patients’ ability to safely perform daily living activities, design and implement the plan of care, document progress, and discharge planning. You will supervise certified OT assistants and aides in compliance with regulations. Florida OT license required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Master's or Doctorate degree preferred.
• OT credentialed from the Florida Board of Occupational Therapy prior to hire date.

Responsibilities

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Assess patient 's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills.
• Design the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.Implement the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
• Document findings of patient progress. Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed. Seek consultation as necessary.
• Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services and provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Oversee the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy 3-Technicians according to established regulations and practice standards.

What minimum qualifications you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Occupational Therapy (OT) credentialed from the Florida Board of Occupational Therapy prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree required. Master's OR Doctorate degree preferred.
