Job summary

Inova Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, VA is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our acute care team in a PRN capacity. This role requires 2 weekend shifts per month and coverage for 1 major and 1 minor holiday per year.

The OT will adhere to department policies, communicate with the care team, and tailor treatment plans based on patient needs while remaining flexible to additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required at start.
• Virginia Occupational Therapist license required at start.
• Experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to department policies regarding evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Communicate effectively with patients, family, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors, and outside contacts while completing all administrative tasks.
• Demonstrates essential skill competencies in treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols while performing re-evaluations and adjusting the treatment plan.
• Selects evaluation and treatment methods appropriate to patients' diagnosis, age group, and emotional status while formulating treatment plans.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Occupational Therapist PRN Job Responsibilities

• The Occupational Therapist PRN adheres to department policies regarding the timeframe, form, and content of written evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Communicate effectively with patients, family, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors, and outside contacts while completing all administrative tasks and other responsibilities in support of the operating unit.
• Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols while performing re‑evaluations, according to department guidelines, and adjusting the treatment plan as needed.
• Selects evaluation and treatment methods appropriate to patients' diagnosis, age group, and physical/emotional status while formulating appropriate treatment plans.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association required upon start.
• Licensure: VA Occupational Therapist License required upon start.

Preferred Qualification

• Experience working in an acute care setting
