Job summary

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital in Northern Virginia is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) for a PRN position. The role supports patient rehab goals in acute care, with at least two weekend shifts per month and coverage on one major and one minor holiday.

You will collaborate with a skilled care team to evaluate, treat, and discharge patients efficiently. We value experienced clinicians who document clearly, communicate with families and staff, and demonstrate strong clinical skills in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science, Occupational Therapy required.
• Virginia licensure required at start.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy preferred.
• 1 year of acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Documents evaluation results according to department policy.
• Completes daily progress notes reflecting patient responses to treatment and discharge needs.
• Completes discharge notes with course of treatment and follow-up recommendations.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, and external contacts.
• Provides educational materials appropriate to patients' level of understanding and motivation.
• Demonstrates competency in treatment modalities and adjusts the plan as needed.

Inova Fair Oaks is looking to add an Occupational Therapist to join our wonderful team! This is a PRN opportunity, at least 2 weekend shifts a month, one major and one minor holiday. We are a cohesive, hard working team motivated by helping our patients meet their rehab goals.

Occupational Therapist Job Responsibilities

• Documents evaluation results clearly and completely according to department policy.
• Completes daily progress notes that reflect patients' responses to treatment, actual performance and an assessment as to status, relevant to the treatment plan, and eventual discharge needs and treatment summaries if needed.
• Completes discharge notes that include a summary of the course of treatment, progress toward goals, discharge needs, recommendations for follow-up and patient and/or family education.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors and outside contacts.
• Provides educational materials and methods appropriate to patients' level of understanding and motivation.
• Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment and protocols. Performs re-evaluations according to department guidelines – adjusting the treatment plan as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelors of Science, Occupational Therapy. Master’s Degree Preferred
• Certification: BLS certified through the American Heart Association.

Licensure: VirginiaLicense required upon start

Preferred Qualification

• 1 year of experience in an acute care setting
