Inova Health System is seeking an Occupational Therapist for Acute Care PRN at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital. This role requires providing patient-centered rehab, documenting progress, and coordinating discharge planning.

The candidate should have current OT credentials and BLS certification, with the ability to cover weekend shifts and holidays. We offer a supportive team environment with a focus on quality patient outcomes and ongoing professional development.

Formación

• Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy required.
• Master’s degree preferred for advancement or leadership roles.
• BLS certification as required by the department (American Heart Association).

Responsabilidades

• Document evaluation results clearly per department policy.
• Complete daily progress notes reflecting treatment response and discharge needs.
• Prepare discharge notes with course of treatment and follow-up recommendations.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, care teams, and outside contacts.
• Provide educational materials appropriate to patient understanding and motivation.

Job Description

Inova Fair Oaks is looking to add an Occupational Therapist to join our wonderful team! This is a PRN opportunity, at least 2 weekend shifts a month, one major and one minor holiday. We are a cohesive, hard working team motivated by helping our patients meet their rehab goals.

Occupational Therapist Job Responsibilities:

• Documents evaluation results clearly and completely according to department policy.
• Completes daily progress notes that reflect patients' responses to treatment, actual performance and an assessment as to status, relevant to the treatment plan, and eventual discharge needs and treatment summaries if needed.
• Completes discharge notes that include a summary of the course of treatment, progress toward goals, discharge needs, recommendations for follow-up and patient and/or family education.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors and outside contacts.
• Provides educational materials and methods appropriate to patients' level of understanding and motivation.
• Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment and protocols. Performs re-evaluations according to department guidelines – adjusting the treatment plan as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors of Science, Occupational Therapy. Master’s Degree Preferred
• Certification: BLS certified through the American Heart Association.

Licensure: VirginiaLicense required upon start

Preferred Qualification:

• 1 year of experience in an acute care setting
