Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our Acute Care team on a PRN/as needed basis. This role requires at least 16 hours per month, including one weekend day and some holidays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Virginia license in Occupational Therapy required by start.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required by start.

Responsibilities

• Documents evaluation results clearly and completely according to department policy.
• Completes daily progress notes reflecting patients' responses to treatment and discharge needs.
• Completes discharge notes with course of treatment, progress toward goals, and follow-up recommendations.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students and outside contacts.
• Provides educational materials and methods appropriate to patients' level of understanding and motivation.
• Demonstrates core competencies in treatment modalities, equipment and protocols; performs re-evaluations per guidelines.

Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our Acute Care team. This is role is PRN/as needed requiring at least 16 hours/month including 1 weekend day, some holiday and support days required

Occupational Therapist (OT) Job Responsibilities:

• Documents evaluation results clearly and completely according to department policy.
• Completes daily progress notes that reflect patients' responses to treatment, actual performance and an assessment as to status, relevant to the treatment plan, and eventual discharge needs and treatment summaries if needed.
• Completes discharge notes that include a summary of the course of treatment, progress toward goals, discharge needs, recommendations for follow-up and patient and/or family education.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors and outside contacts.
• Provides educational materials and methods appropriate to patients' level of understanding and motivation.
• Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment and protocols. Performs re-evaluations according to department guidelines - adjusting the treatment plan as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy (OT)
• Licensure: Virginia license in Occupational Therapy upon start
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association upon start

Preferred Qualification:

• Acute care experience as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
