Job summary

North Texas Therapy & Home Care in Texas seeks an Occupational Therapist to deliver pediatric home health services. You will assess motor and sensory functions, interpret data, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve patient goals.

You will educate staff and caregivers, modify plans to meet treatment objectives, and mentor staff as needed. Pediatric home health experience is preferred and bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Licensed OT with pediatrics experience required.
• Current Texas state license to practice.
• Clinical/practicum hours completed in OT.
• Home health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide OT services in patients' homes or daytime facility 0-21 yrs, 2+ times weekly.
• Assess motor, sensory, and functional skills using appropriate tests.
• Interpret data and write diagnostic reports.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team on goals and interventions.
• Educate staff and caregivers; develop training materials.
• Supervise COTAs when needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelors/Masters degree in occupational therapy from an accredited college or university
• Current Texas state license
• Experience in pediatrics required.
• Clinical/Practicum hours completed.
• Home health experience preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus

Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled occupational therapy services in the home or daytime facility of patients 0-21 years of age, 2 or more times per week, in accordance with physician orders.
• Define patient's degree and type of physical, fine motor, and sensory impairment(s) by selecting and administering the most appropriate testing instruments.
• Interpret diagnostic data and prepare written diagnostic reports.
• In collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, plan and evaluate team goals for each patient as well as advise, consult, and instruct the team in specific occupational therapy modalities and interventions.
• Plan for and modify care to meet goals of occupational therapy interventions.
• Educate staff, caregivers, and patients by designing and delivering training, printed material/resources and in-service programs in accordance with a total occupational therapy program.
• May provide supervision to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants
