Job summary

North Texas Therapy & Home Care in Dallas, TX seeks a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide pediatric therapy in the home or daytime facility for children aged 0–21, with sessions 2+ times per week as ordered by physicians.

You will assess motor, sensory, and fine motor skills, plan goals with a multidisciplinary team, educate families and staff, and supervise aides as needed. A Texas license and pediatric experience are required.

Qualifications

• OT degree from accredited program.
• Current Texas state OT license.
• Pediatrics experience required.
• Clinical/practicum hours completed.
• Home health experience preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled OT services in the home or daytime facility for patients aged 0-21, 2+ times per week as ordered.
• Define impairment level using appropriate testing instruments.
• Interpret data and prepare diagnostic reports.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to plan and evaluate goals.
• Modify care plans to meet OT intervention goals.
• Educate staff, caregivers, and patients with training materials and in-service programs.
• May supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants.

Requirements:

• Bachelors/Masters degree in occupational therapy from an accredited college or university
• Current Texas state license
• Experience in pediatrics required.

Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled occupational therapy services in the home or daytime facility of patients 0-21 years of age, 2 or more times per week, in accordance with physician orders.
• Define patients' degree and type of physical, fine motor, and sensory impairment(s) by selecting and administering the most appropriate testing instruments.
• Interpret diagnostic data and prepare written diagnostic reports.
• In collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, plan and evaluate team goals for each patient as well as advise, consult, and instruct the team in specific occupational therapy modalities and interventions.
• Plan for and modify care to meet goals of occupational therapy interventions.
• Educate staff, caregivers, and patients by designing and delivering training, printed material/resources and in-service programs in accordance with a total occupational therapy program.
• May provide supervision to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants
