Job summary

North Texas Therapy & Home Care in Texas seeks a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide pediatric home health services, 2+ visits weekly, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

You will assess and plan motor, sensory, and functional skills; educate families; supervise assistants; and participate in continual professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Active Texas state OT license.
• Experience in pediatrics required.
• Clinical/Practicum hours completed.
• Home health experience preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy services in patients' homes or daytime facilities for ages 0-21, 2+ times per week as prescribed by physicians.
• Define patient's degree and type of impairment using appropriate testing instruments.
• Interpret data and prepare written diagnostic reports.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to plan and evaluate goals and provide OT-specific interventions.
• Modify care plans to meet OT goals and patient progress.
• Educate staff, caregivers, and patients through training materials and in-service programs.
• May supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants.

• Define patient's degree and type of physical, fine motor, and sensory impairment(s) by selecting and administering the most appropriate testing instruments.
• Interpret diagnostic data and prepare written diagnostic reports.
• In collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, plan and evaluate team goals for each patient as well as advise, consult, and instruct the team in specific occupational therapy modalities and interventions.
• Plan for and modify care to meet goals of occupational therapy interventions.
• Educate staff, caregivers, and patients by designing and delivering training, printed material/resources and in-service programs in accordance with a total occupational therapy program.
• May provide supervision to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants
