Job summary

Oasis Therapy Services, a skilled nursing facility in Wisconsin, is hiring an Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide rehabilitation services across one or more service locations. Schedule options include part-time and PRN with competitive wages.

You will assess residents, supervise COTAs, and apply interventions to maximize independence in ADLs and IADLs, while educating families. A valid OT license is required; CPR preferred. Work location is in person at our facility in Beaver Dam.

Qualifications

• Must have proven experience as an occupational therapist.
• Solid knowledge of OT principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with ADL/IADL assessment tools (e.g., Katz, Lawton IADL).
• Valid license to practice occupational therapy.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality occupational therapy services following established standards and productivity guidelines.
• Evaluate residents to gather data for treatment planning and implement plans.
• Supervise COTAs in treatment implementation.
• Maximize safety and performance in ADLs/IADLs through interventions.
• Recommend adaptive equipment and train in its use.
• Educate family members and caregivers.
• Monitor and report progress toward treatment goals.

Job Responsibilities

• To provide quality Occupational therapy services and initiates referrals when appropriate, in accordance with established standards of practice, therapy department procedures, and productivity standards.
• To evaluate residents to obtain data necessary for treatment planning and implementation and conduct specialized evaluations as indicated.
• To supervise and direct Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in the implementation of the treatment plan.
• Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL)
• Recommend adaptive equipment and train in its use
• Guide and educate family members and caregivers
• Observe, note, and report on progress of long and short term treatment goals

Skills

• Proven working experience as occupational therapist
• Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of occupational therapy
• Familiarity with ADLs evaluation tools ( e.g. Katz ADL scale, Lawton IADL scale)
• Valid license to practice occupational therapy
