Job summary

Riverside is hiring a full-time Occupational Therapist to join our rehabilitation team in Manhattan, NY. Work on-site with a collaborative, interdisciplinary group and benefit from structured mentorship and ongoing clinical education.

We support growth across a 35-facility network with advancement tracks and a patient-centered approach. You will evaluate residents, create measurable treatment plans, deliver ADL-focused therapy, and coordinate with PT/SLP, nursing, and social work.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Valid Occupational Therapist license and registration in the state of practice, or license eligible.
• Ability to supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants in accordance with the state practice act.
• Comfort with clinical documentation including evaluations, weekly progress notes, recertifications, and discharge summaries.
• Commitment to confidentiality, HIPAA, and Federal Resident Rights.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate referred residents to determine medical status, functional ability, limitations, precautions, and rehabilitation potential.
• Build individualized treatment plans with measurable, achievable goals based on each resident’s capacity and tolerance, under physician direction.
• Deliver skilled occupational therapy interventions focused on ADL performance, safety, and return to prior level of function.
• Complete evaluations, weekly progress notes, recertifications, and discharge documentation accurately and on time.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques, safety, and carryover strategies.
• Collaborate with PT, SLP, nursing, dietitians, and social work to deliver patient centered care and support discharge readiness.
• Recommend adaptive equipment, durable medical equipment, and environmental modifications.
• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and students in accordance with the state practice act.
