Job summary

Riverside is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to join our rehabilitation team in Manhattan, NY. On-site collaboration with an interdisciplinary team ensures planning and delivery of patient-centered care across ADL goals and return-to-function plans.

New grads are welcome with structured mentorship and ongoing clinical education. We offer a wide network of facilities, advancement tracks, and competitive hourly pay. Schedule is Monday–Friday with in-person work location in Manhattan.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Valid OT license and registration in the state of practice, or license eligible.
• Ability to supervise OT Assistants in accordance with the state practice act.
• Comfort with clinical documentation including evaluations, weekly progress notes, recertifications, and discharge summaries.
• Commitment to confidentiality, HIPAA, and Federal Resident Rights.
• Experience in long term care, sub acute, or geriatric rehabilitation (preferred).
• Prior experience in an interdisciplinary care model (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate referred residents to determine medical status, functional ability, limitations, precautions, and rehabilitation potential.
• Build individualized treatment plans with measurable, achievable goals based on each resident’s capacity and tolerance, under physician direction.
• Deliver skilled occupational therapy interventions focused on ADL performance, safety, and return to prior level of function.
• Complete evaluations, weekly progress notes, recertifications, and discharge documentation accurately and on time.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques, safety, and carryover strategies.
• Collaborate with PT, SLP, nursing, dietitians, and social work to deliver patient centered care and support discharge readiness.
• Recommend adaptive equipment, durable medical equipment, and environmental modifications.
• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and students in accordance with the state practice act.
