Job summary

Riverside is hiring a full‑time Occupational Therapist to join our rehabilitation team on-site in Manhattan. You will interview with the people you will actually work with, and you’ll be part of an interdisciplinary team including PT, SLP, nursing, dietitians, and social work.

New graduates are welcome; we offer structured mentorship, hands-on orientation, and ongoing clinical education from seasoned clinicians.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Valid Occupational Therapist license and registration in NY, or license eligible.
• Ability to supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants in accordance with the state practice act.
• Comfort with clinical documentation including evaluations, weekly progress notes, recertifications, and discharge summaries.
• Commitment to confidentiality, HIPAA, and Federal Resident Rights.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate referred residents to determine medical status, functional ability, limitations, precautions, and rehabilitation potential.
• Build individualized treatment plans with measurable, achievable goals based on each resident’s capacity and tolerance, under physician direction.
• Deliver skilled occupational therapy interventions focused on ADL performance, safety, and return to prior level of function.
• Complete evaluations, weekly progress notes, recertifications, and discharge documentation accurately and on time.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques, safety, and carryover strategies.
• Collaborate with PT, SLP, nursing, dietitians, and social work to deliver patient centered care and support discharge readiness.
• Recommend adaptive equipment, durable medical equipment, and environmental modifications.
• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and students in accordance with the state practice act.
