Job summary

Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD is seeking an Occupational Therapist II for outpatient services. You will evaluate patients, design individualized treatment plans, and work with a multidisciplinary team to improve functional outcomes.

Under supervision of Rehab Therapy Services leadership, you will mentor peers, contribute to service improvements, and uphold Johns Hopkins values while delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Maryland OT licensure required; CPR certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of occupational therapy experience.

Position: Occupational Therapist II - Outpatient

As an Occupational Therapist II (OTII), you'll play a key role in assessing and supporting patients in their journey to reach their highest level of function. Under the supervision of the Team Coordinator, Clinical Specialist, and Rehab Therapy Services leadership, you'll conduct evaluations, create personalized treatment plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. You'll also mentor peers and contribute to the ongoing improvement of our services, upholding the values and objectives of Johns Hopkins.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients using objective assessment techniques, focusing on occupational limitations and medical conditions.
  • Develop and implement customized treatment programs to help patients reach their maximum functional potential.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure patient and team outcomes are maximized.
  • Mentor team members, promoting quality and excellence in patient care.
  • Contribute to the improvement of department and hospital systems to support patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Education: Requires a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program; Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy earned prior to July 1, 2007, from an accredited program, with current licensure and certification, may be accepted based on historical requirements.
  • Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of social, behavioral, biological, and physical sciences foundational to Occupational Therapy.
    • Expertise in OT theory, evaluation and treatment techniques, research application, and leadership.
    • Knowledge of current healthcare practices.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in occupational therapy required
  • Skills:
    • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
    • Ability to use data analysis and technology for effective clinical decision-making.
    • Proficient in applying clinical knowledge and OT theory in patient care.
  • Licensure and Certification:
    • Licensed by the Maryland Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners.
    • Current AHA Health Care Provider CPR certification

Salary Range: Minimum $39.56/hour - Maximum $65.34/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
