Job summary

Good Samaritan Society/ Sanford Health Fargo is seeking an Occupational Therapist to assess residents and patients, helping them develop, maintain and recover daily living skills. You may supervise assistants, aides and students while coordinating with providers, case managers and families. Licensed in the state of practice as an Occupational Therapist is required.

NBCOT certification is preferred when applicable. A valid driver’s license and BLS within 60 days may be needed.

Qualifications

• Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
• Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as Occupational Therapist.
• NBCOT certification when applicable.
• May require a valid driver's license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.
• In North Dakota/South Dakota/Iowa/Minnesota, new graduates with temporary license may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Conducts evaluations and provides interventions for residents and patients.
• Evaluates abilities of residents/patients and develops realistic therapy goals.
• Documents resident's/patient’s information for evaluation and establishes therapeutic plans.
• Provides education designed to enhance understanding and improve functional outcomes.
• Demonstrates and incorporates knowledge of current research into daily treatment.
• Provides ongoing education and training to peers in the area(s) of expertise.
