Job summary

The Good Samaritan Society in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking an Occupational Therapist to assess residents and patients to develop, maintain, and restore functional abilities. You may supervise assistants while collaborating with providers, case managers, and families to support optimal outcomes.

The role requires state licensure as an Occupational Therapist. NBCOT certification is preferred for Sanford Health facilities; BLS within 60 days is required.

Qualifications

• Licensed in the state of practice as Occupational Therapist.
• NBCOT certification preferred for Sanford Health facilities.
• BLS for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Conducts evaluations and provides interventions for residents and patients.
• Evaluates abilities of residents/patients and develops realistic therapy goals.
• Documents resident's/patient’s information for evaluation and establishes therapeutic plans.
• Provides education designed to enhance understanding and improve functional outcomes.
• Demonstrates and incorporates knowledge of current research into daily treatment.
• Provides ongoing education and training to peers in the area(s) of expertise.
