Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat patients with a range of physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities in the Burn Center. The role is full-time, onsite in Akron, OH, with shifts from 7:30 AM to 6 PM and weekend/holiday rotation.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Occupational Therapy, NBCOT certification, and Ohio licensure, with at least three years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy.
• NBCOT certification and Ohio state licensure required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Full-time role, onsite in Akron, OH, with 7:30 AM–6 PM shifts and weekend/holiday rotation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, assess and treat patients with a variety of physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities.
• Communicate with patient, family members, and team members as needed.
• Document and educate patient/family per division protocols.
• Supervise COTA/L, volunteers, or students per OT regulations.
• Other duties as required.

Summary:

The Occupational Therapist utilizes professional knowledge and behaviors to evaluate/assess and treat patients with a variety of physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities.

Responsibilities:

1. Utilizes professional knowledge and behaviors to evaluate, assess and treat patients with a variety of physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities.
2. Communicates effectively with patient, family members, and team members as needed.
3. Performs appropriate and necessary documentation and patient/family education, per division protocols.
4. Supervises COTA/L, volunteer, or student per OT regulations.
5. Other duties as required.

Technical Expertise

1. Experience in occupational therapy is required.
2. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
3. Experience in healthcare is preferred.
4. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.

Education and Experience

1. Education: Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy.
2. Certification: Certification by National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and current Ohio state licensure is required.
3. Years of relevant experience: Minimum 3 years is preferred.
4. Years of experience supervising: None.
