Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist for its Behavioral Health team. This full-time role offers 40 hours per week, with daytime hours from 7:30 AM to 6 PM and a weekend/holiday rotation, onsite in Akron, OH.

You will evaluate and treat patients with a range of physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities, collaborate with families, document and educate per protocols, and supervise COTA/L, volunteers or students as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy.
• NBCOT certification and Ohio licensure required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
• No supervision required for OT staff.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, assess and treat patients with physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities.
• Communicate with patient, family members, and team members as needed.
• Perform appropriate documentation and patient/family education per division protocols.
• Supervise COTA/L, volunteers, or students per OT regulations.
• Other duties as required.

Education and Experience

1. Education: Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy.
2. Certification: Certification by National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and current Ohio state licensure is required.
3. Years of relevant experience: Minimum 3 years is preferred.
4. Years of experience supervising: None.
