Akron Children's Hospital in Akron, OH seeks a full-time Occupational Therapist to evaluate, assess and treat patients with diverse disabilities. The role is onsite, 40 hours per week, with weekend/holiday rotation between 7:30 AM and 6 PM.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Occupational Therapy, NBCOT certification, and Ohio licensure, with 3+ years of experience. Proficiency in MS Office and cross-disciplinary collaboration are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral)required.
• NBCOT certification and Ohio state licensure required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Supervising of COTA/L, volunteers, or students per OT regulations unnecessary.

Summary:

The Occupational Therapist utilizes professional knowledge and behaviors to evaluate/assess and treat patients with a variety of physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities.

Responsibilities:

1. Utilizes professional knowledge and behaviors to evaluate, assess and treat patients with a variety of physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities.
2. Communicates effectively with patient, family members, and team members as needed.
3. Performs appropriate and necessary documentation and patient/family education, per division protocols.
4. Supervises COTA/L, volunteer, or student per OT regulations.
5. Other duties as required.

Technical Expertise

1. Experience in occupational therapy is required.
2. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
3. Experience in healthcare is preferred.
4. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.

Education and Experience

1. Education: Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy.
2. Certification: Certification by National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and current Ohio state licensure is required.
3. Years of relevant experience: Minimum 3 years is preferred.
4. Years of experience supervising: None.
