Job summary

Akron Children's in North Canton, OH seeks a licensed Occupational Therapist to evaluate, treat, and support patients with diverse physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities in a full-time onsite role.

The candidate collaborates with patients, families, and care teams, documents interventions per division protocols, and may supervise COTA/L, volunteers, or students as required. Ohio licensure and NBCOT certification are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's/Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
• NBCOT Certification and Ohio state licensure are required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience preferred; healthcare experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, assess, and treat patients with a variety of physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
• Document and educate patients and families following division protocols.
• Supervise COTA/L, volunteers, or students as per OT regulations.

Monday - Friday Days, Between hours of 7AM - 7PM

Summary

The Occupational Therapist utilizes professional knowledge and behaviors to evaluate/assess and treat patients with a variety of physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes professional knowledge and behaviors to evaluate, assess and treat patients with a variety of physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities.


• Communicates effectively with patient, family members, and team members as needed.


• Performs appropriate and necessary documentation and patient/family education, per division protocols.


• Supervises COTA/L, volunteer, or student per OT regulations.


• Other duties as required.

Technical Expertise

• Experience in occupational therapy is required.


• Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.


• Experience in healthcare is preferred.


• Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.

Education and Experience

• Education: Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy.


• Certification: Certification by National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and current Ohio state licensure is required.


• Years of relevant experience: Minimum 3 years is preferred.


• Years of experience supervising: None.
