Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital in New Philadelphia, OH is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a part-time (0.6 FTE), onsite role. The position supports 24 hours per week with a schedule Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–7:00 PM.

The OT will evaluate and treat patients with physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities, document findings, and educate families. Requires a Bachelor's in OT, NBCOT certification, and OH licensure; 3–5 years experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher degree in Occupational Therapy required; Master’s preferred.
• NBCOT certification and current Ohio state licensure required.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience preferred; healthcare setting experience preferred.

Summary

The Occupational Therapist utilizes professional knowledge and behaviors to evaluate/assess and treat patients with a variety of physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes professional knowledge and behaviors to evaluate, assess and treat patients with a variety of physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities.
• Communicates effectively with patient, family members, and team members as needed.
• Performs appropriate and necessary documentation and patient/family education.
• Supervises COTA/L, volunteer, or student per OT regulations.
• Other duties as required.

Technical Expertise

• Experience in occupational therapy is required.
• Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
• Experience in healthcare is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy is required; Master's degree is preferred.
• Certification by National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and current Ohio state licensure is required.
• Years of relevant experience: 3 to 5 years is preferred.
• Years of experience supervising: None.
