Job summary

Almaden Health and Rehabilitation Center in San Jose, CA seeks an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to join our dedicated care team. You will provide direct clinical treatment within a plan of care, assist patients with therapies, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support safe discharges.

The role offers a competitive salary range of $85,280–$104,000 per year, a sign-on bonus, PTO, and referral bonuses. New graduates are welcome to apply; California OTA licensure is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One year of clinical experience preferred; new grads welcomed.
• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by California.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal problems.
• Performs tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, ROM, and respiratory/circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment per established plan of care.
• participates in interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists patients with tools and treatments as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts home assessments to ensure safe discharge with OT/PT as needed.

• ccupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) Duties and Responsibilities Performed within scope of practice and federal guidelines:
• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists the patient with tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment, along with the OT/PT as needed.

• ccupational Therapist (OT) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by the state of California.
