Mariner Healthcare's Almaden Health and Rehabilitation Center is hiring an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) in San Jose, CA. The role involves administering treatment under a plan of care and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Qualified candidates hold an OTA license in California, have an associate degree in OT, and ideally one year of clinical experience; new grads are welcome. A sign-on bonus and PTO/referral bonuses are offered.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One year of clinical experience preferred; new graduates welcome.
• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by the state of California.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists the patient with tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment, along with the OT/PT as needed.

• ccupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) Duties and Responsibilities Performed within scope of practice and federal guidelines:
• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
