Job summary

Palm Springs Healthcare Center, part of Mariner Healthcare, is seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) in Palm Springs, CA. The role includes administering treatments, conducting strength and ROM assessments, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

A sign-on bonus is available and PTO plus referral bonuses are offered. The OTA must hold an Associate degree and CA license; 1 year of clinical experience is preferred, with new graduates welcome.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in California.
• 1 year of clinical experience preferred; new graduates welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues.
• Performs tests and measurements for muscle strength, ROM, and respiratory/circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment per established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists patients with tools and treatments for specific needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts home assessments as appropriate to ensure safe discharge.

• ccupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) Duties and Responsibilities Performed within scope of practice and federal guidelines:
• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists the patient with tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment, along with the OT/PT as needed.

• ccupational Therapist (OT) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by the state of California.
