Job summary

Corewell Health’s Occupational Therapy team at Royal Oak Hospital is seeking a dedicated OT to evaluate, treat, and educate patients within an interdisciplinary program. You will monitor COTA and aide activities, document care in accordance with standards, and participate in ongoing safety training.

License maintenance and timely evidence submission are required to support high-quality patient outcomes. The role offers a full-time day schedule, 40 hours weekly, with Tuesday through Saturday

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent OT program from an accredited school.
  • Successful completion of clinical internship.
  • Prior clinical rehabilitation experience preferred.
  • Licensed Occupational Therapist in Michigan upon hire.
  • BLS certification (AHA) upon hire or ARC certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic services including evaluation, treatment, and education.
  • Monitor treatment activities of COTAs and aides.
  • Complete evaluations of assigned patients per established standards of care.
  • Plan and provide treatment to assigned patients as appropriate.
  • Complete all documentation of services per department standards.
  • Attend required safety training and understand related hazards.
  • Maintain updated license and submit evidence of status to supervisor within two weeks of receipt of license.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent OT program from an accredited school
Successful completion of clinical internship
Prior clinical rehabilitation experience (preferred)
Licensed Occupational Therapist in Michigan on hire
BLS certification (AHA) on hire
BLS certification (ARC) on hire

Completes evaluations of assigned patients in accordance with the established standards of care and practice. Plans and provides treatment to assigned patients as appropriate in accordance with established standards of care and practice. Completes all documentation of services per department standards. Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job related hazards. Follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment. Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and intra-departmentally to facilitate the department’s/unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives. Maintains updated license and submits evidence of status to supervisor/manager within two weeks of receipt of new or updated license.

Standard Qualifications
  • Required Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Graduate from an accredited OT school.
  • Successful completion of clinical internship. Required
  • Previous clinical experience/rehabilitation experience. Preferred
  • LIC-Occupational Therapist State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required
